More on excise taxation

I got a number of responses on taxation and I will summarize one more point.

In Rome be like Romans. We are waving taxation, while third World countries not only stick us with cheap junk, they apply excise taxes on our products. I just  talked to a businessman, who was charged in India large excise taxes, which is a de facto tariff. On the other hand, we are letting everything here free.   So, we are free to be what? fools?

Donald Trump recently talked on Greta Van Susteren, saying that Chinese are amazed at what they can get away with, they believe our government is supid. Well, we are free to be stupid,  if we continue these policies.
