If you are talking about the nonsense you linked to, it is the exact opposite of anti-american.
The proposed mosque is not at ground zero, but several blocks away in a private building already owned.
Are you really proposing that the US Government now be allowed to tell it’s citizens if the can worship in buildings they privately own themselves? Freedom of religion applies to all religions, not just those you agree with.
Do you really want this precedent set?
The person at that link also states that ads prmoting Islam not be allowed! Get a grip people, again, our Constitution specifically states that our government cannot favor one religion over another, prohibit a religion, or treat them differently from each other! For a segment of the population who feels that the Constitution is being ignored to actively propose that we deny it’s protections to Citizens they do not agree with is not only silly and hypocritical, it shows said citizens do not understand the very document they think is being violated!
As far as the images in that link being allowed, good grief, that would be horribly insensitive To those who lost family members and close friends in the attack! It is to soon, and to try to use the images to inspire outrage so that people would advocate violating the US Constitution, is just, ANTI-AMERICAN!!!!!

there are numerous precedents of certain religious prctices being limited in terms of location or what they can or cannot do. There are zoning regulations that are followed by cities all the time.
This mosque is a spit in the face, it is a sign of victory: you have to be completely brain dead or corrupt or anti American, not to see that

I support the petition to recall Bloomberg.
Muslimism is not a religion. It is a hate group because it promotes mutulation and killing of innocent people. It has no place here in the U.S.A. Do your homework and learn what Muslinism is really about.

Frankly, dear Julia,
The mosque’s symbolism for
the Islamic religion is
low on the scale of revulsion
from Americans.
What is high on the scale
of revulsion
from Americans
is the insensitivity of it
being placed anywhere near
the Towers and their being
demolished by Muslims.
It would not matter if the
people who destroyed it were
heathens from the jungles.
If the heathens from the jungles
decided to place a huge hut
near the site of the Towers,
it would still be insensitive.
Got it?

orly — YOU are the anti american here. you should be tried and EXECCUTED for treason. your body should be burned in the streets.
August 8th, 2010 @ 4:17 pm
Yea. Like anything you could do would actually have an effect on anything. You have promised so much, like you would have Obama out of office in 30 days last year in September, and where are we now? The same place we were last year.
The day you actually accomplish something – a true victory – THEN you can actually have my signature. Otherwise, this ‘thread’ means absolutely nothing. You have so few supporters these days, you couldn’t collect enough money for a cup of coffee.

There is a matter of reciprocity too. If the Saudis will not allow us to build synagogues and churches in their country, why should we allow them to build mosques in ours?
The Muslims don’t want Christians to proselyte to them, but they want to proselyte Islam to Christians.
No way Mohammed. You can keep your 72 virgins.
August 8th, 2010 @ 5:00 pm
Julia: Islam is not a religion. It is an idiology. They are not tolerant of other religions, christians are tolerant of all religions. That is the difference. the Mosque at ground zero is a symbol of those who want to conquer us. Please open your ears. This mosque is the same as putting a nazi shrine next to auzwitzuits (sp). sorry it is late.

Julia, the Catholic Carmelites built a convent near Auschwitz and the Jews were upset and wanted them to move. The convent did not want to move. Catholics had died their also, priests, many Christians, many souls of all religions. Pope John Paul saw the situation and when he saw the Carmelites were determined to stay there, he had them moved, to a distance that was not disturbing to the Jewish. Prayer has no limits, after all.
He had the wisdom to not inflict further suffering on those already suffering, no matter how unreasonable it might seem to others. Sometimes doing the right thing is doing the kind thing, putting others first.
People do not want a mosque built near a national war memorial, because Islamic fundamentalist terrorists perpetrated the crime. It is not about freedom of religion. It is about being thoughtful of those suffering, as the families are still suffering. It is about restraint and kindness.
Shoving one’s “religion” into the face of those suffering is not true holy, religious behavior. It is emotional terrorism.
As the Muslims often say they want things done for them, or else they are offended, I would say that is the situation here. They are offending millions of people, an entire nation of people, most of us are deeply offended they would even consider such an act.
If they want to practice their religion, build a humble mosque at the edge of the city and donate the money for the 13-story monstrosity to the individual families, for college funds for the children or pay the hospital bills for the people who tried to help and were injured.
Yes, we have freedom of religion in America. We also do not have many Christian Churches or Jewish temples with members plotting attacks on Americans, but we do have mosques with members plotting attacks on Americans. So if the mosques are being used as a coverup for militant activities, then they are not religious facilities at all, are they?
I think if the Muslims of New York really wanted to love their neighbors and be a religion of peace, they would listen to the suffering they are inflicting, the emotional terrorism they are encouraging, and step back with respect and show that they really do care about others, and really are not wanting to inflict any more on those already suffering so much loss.
When I myself heard they wanted to build a mosque so big and so close, I lost all respect for thet particular Islamic group. However, I have met enough Muslims to know they are as varied as Christians, and many would be ashamed that their members would do this and be so insensitive.
Pope John Paul intervened, and showed great regard and respect for the wishes and feelings of the Jewish people, even though many priests were killed in the concentration camps.
To me, that is how a true religion behaves, listening to the weakest, the stranger, the suffering. Never pushing or imposing itself in a flagrant manner.
Freedom of religion is not freedom to camouflage as a religion to harm others.

@Julia
Islam is not a religion.
It may have a following of religiously indoctrinated people, but the pathological narcissist Mohammed’s cult of islam is Mohammed’s invention to build his empire via greed, power-seeking, deceit, hate, violence, war, looting, raping, theft, torture, murder, religious vilification, oppression, misogyny, and eradication of Jews.
Mohammed plagerized Jewish Torah and added his own ‘talks with angel Gabriel’ to suit his own vile disgusting agenda.
Let the useful idiots of Islam who have been duped by the sugar-coating worship Mohammed’s invented ‘god’ in their own private places, say no to Islam.
Here’s a surah from Mohammed’s book of hate, the Koran.
[005:051] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
[009:014] Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, and assist you against them and heal the hearts of a believing people.

I support the petition to recall Mayor Bloomberg.
The landing gear from one of the hijacked planes crashed through the roof of this building. Ground Zero is sacred ground and I stand in support of the families and friends who lost loved ones.
This project will not serve to foster tolerance and understanding as most New Yorkers, many local construction workers, and thousands of us throughout our nation are against it. There are about 2000 mosques in the United States and Muslims can build in a different location.
It is my belief that this mosque is intended to symbolize Islamic victory over America. I still remember watching the Islamic world cheering in the streets after 9/11. Tablighi Jamaat had plans to build Europe’s biggest mosque at the London Olympic park site. The people rose up in strong opposition and petitioned the Government to put a halt to the mosque.
