New Hawaii law targets Obama birthplace requests

Orly Taitz is unlikely to be pleased by the Hawaii measure signed into law Wendesday by Republican Gov. Linda Lingle.
The law says that state officials do not need to respond to repetitive requests for the same information. It is specifically aimed at ongoing requests for Barack Obama’s birth certificate by those – like Laguna Niguel’s Taitz – who believe Obama is not a natural-born citizen and so is ineligible to be president.
The state’s Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino and the state registrar of vital statistics have verified that the Health Department holds Obama’s original birth certificate, according to the Associated Press story.
“A few of those requesters file repeated inquiries seeking the same information, even after they’re told state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest,” the Associated Press reports.
